January 2010
Future. Not past.
Digging thru my old dresses looking for something good to wear tonight. Can’t help but think that all of it makes me look like someone I used to be and therefore inappropriate for tonight, which is all about the future.

Confession:
I started my New Years dieting early.
I finished Xmas a week earlier than all of you and I felt really bloated.
It’s not so much a ‘diet’ as a ‘don’t eat so damn much’.

Since 2000
I’ve lived 6 distinct periods of my life.
1. 2000-2001: Moved back to Cincinnati after working briefly for Manowar and went about happily living my life hanging w/my best friend/boyfriend Christcrank and talking online with my other best friend Susie by day, clubbing most nights in fabulous dresses with gay men and goths on alternating nights.
2. 2001-2002: Twitched in a corner trying to...
This time last year
I was packing to move.
I didn’t give a crap that it was New Years.
and I was remembering that I was moving for the Y2K one too.
Both times I didn’t even bother to pretend like I might go out.
This year I think it’d be a mistake to stay in.
Holy Crap!
Woolie must like a lot of posts.
Woke up this morning
wondering what kind of rambling nonsense I posted last night before I went to sleep. Re-read it and decided to let it stand. It reflects my general disappointment not getting much of a new social life started, but I’m not depressed. Just generally overworked and freakin’ cold. Besides, no one reads long narratives on your blog anymore anyway.
My life this week
We are swamped at work. I took a day off early in December and never caught back up.
Then there were the parties. Loads of them. And the meetings. It was never-ending.
Everyone at work has been dead quiet for the last two days while we try to clear the backlog. I hope we get caught up soon. A lot of days it seems like there’s no possible way.
I’m sick of overtime, and...
I think Woolie uses the hearts

or else she just finds me really fascinating.
My posts did not post yesterday
and yet my tumblarity went up.
What a strange and unpredictable creature you are, tumblarity.

that y’all haven’t been trolled the way I have here on these internets over the years. I’ve learned the hard way that this ‘anonymous’ person is always up to no good.
I’m a vanity blogger from way back and I’ll post most anything online but no way I’m divulging anything personal to someone who won’t give me their name!

I don't want people to ask me anything.
Especially not anonymously.
What’s wrong with you people?
LOST Season 6 Promo
No new footage to spoil you. Just enough old stuff to get you excited for Feb 2nd when the show comes back on!
Things I accomplished over Xmas
Organized all my files, backed up and optimized my computers
Finished my laundry, including the bedding
Dyed my roots the color I like them instead of the color they grow
Took out all the garbage and recycled all the recycling
Hooked up the DVD player
Watched all the bonus features on LOST season 4 and 5 DVD box sets
Filed all the paperwork I left in pile on my desk
Paid my end-of-the-month...
Oh yay!
The girl I picked for tumblr secret santa got my gift and posted about liking it. That’s a relief. It was late because I just didn’t feel like I did good enough. She’s an interesting person and I felt like I should have gotten her a more interesting gift. But while I was waiting to find the perfect gift I missed the last day to mail stuff to get it there for Xmas.
Eventually I...

I had a rough patch in the early bit and then things got pretty awesome for the second half.
My tumblarity went up like 100 pts
over Xmas.
Proof that you only need to be on tumblr to be popular on tumblr.

Christmas used to be so much worse
I would have to buy a book and a crap-load of food and do my best to kill off the days when everything is closed and everyone is busy and TV is lousy.
The worst Christmasses for me were in in England in the late 80’s. Cause I had no TV at all and things shut down for pretty close to a whole week. I’d make do with talk radio and sleep as much as I could.
I always make it a point to...
Attempting to backup my hard drive
Now that its all neatly organized.
Good in theory but no one ever really does it.
Today I know why.
This backup program sucks and it’s really really really slow.
Who are these people
who can get their cats to wear clothes?
No. I don't want to go for a drink.
You and your coat can go drinking by yourselves.
Last year
I largely ignored Xmas altogether because I was fixated on packing up my stuff and moving to Columbus for the beginning of January.
Looking back, that was pretty good idea.
