For setting me straight. Caltrop is the drummer from Valient Thorr’s old band. I knew it was something like that.

Thanks to Matt, the guy who told me Caltrop was playing tonight with a few hours to make it over there, and Katie for explaining me the Valient Thorr connection. I knew there was one. Couldn’t remember what it was.
The sound isn’t great on this video but you can tell the band is really good.
The turnout wasn’t great but considering I’ve spent all week drinking there and didn’t know about the show it’s amazing there were any people there.
Carabar is a weird place. You gotta know what’s going on there to know what’s going on there. Sometimes you will see awesome bands play to only you. And sometimes you’ll wander into a packed house for a crummy band you didn’t even know was playing.
Caltrop were even better than I expected and I have to say I looked really cool to the few people who turned up because I told them to go.
Maybe next time they play there’ll be people to watch.

Truth is that if this band started today and no one knew them and they looked and acted and sounded exactly like this, most Metalheads would dismiss them as “Not Metal Enough”.
Hair Grease
It makes my scalp feel so good and my hair so shiny… but it makes my fine white-people hair really greasy and disgusting so I only do it when I’ve got a few days before I have to be anywhere because it takes that long to wash it all out.
So of course as soon as I put it on my head I’m told that … if I got this right.. one of the guitar players from Valient Thorr’s other band that he’s not in anymore is playing at my fave local bar along with a local band who’s main dude is using the night as his wedding reception cause thats where all his friends hang anyway or something like that.
I’m like, “Right on! I’m there!”
I don’t know any of these people.
Now I must wash my hair repeatedly.

Just finished watching Persons Unknown.
Seemed obviously someone’s incorrect LOST Theory made into it’s own story. But I’m OK with that.
Folks on the www hated it but they didn’t watch it like I did. All at once and figuring there wouldn’t actually be any ending at all.
It was a fun 13 episode story. If there had been a 2nd season, I’d have watched it.
My laptop makes me hot.
