Weird cause I went because I thought I’d probably like Zoroaster. But I figured I wouldn’t enjoy them as much as I did Coliseum last night who I really dig a lot for their happy energy.

I hang w/a lot of Stoner Doom guys who lean heavy towards Sludge (which I find quite boring after the 2nd song) and although a lot of their recommendations are great, a fair amount of them aren’t.

I’ve seen the Kverletak logo around on peoples shirts but I couldn’t freakin’ read it so I mostly ignored it figuring it would be some band I didn’t give a crap about or I’d know what the hell it said,

Actually it was a girl who told me to go to this show. And she’s both a Valient Thorr and an Electric Six fan (Theres a lot more of us who do both bands than you’d imagine). But she’s also led me far astray before so I didn’t believe….

Especially since I looked the band up and listened to a couple of songs and I didn’t get it at all that they were a really fun energetic live band and the songs are really just a reason for people to know the rhythms and perhaps some of the words so they can join in the live show fun, only I dont think that’s English. Only everyone was singing along anyway.

The singer didn’t just take off his shirt, he took off his pants too! If that’s not the mark of a fun live band, what is? The second the band hit the stage, all the folks up the front knew what to do and they all went crazy all of a sudden.

I was like oh holy crap! Id better get up there!
I only wished I knew these songs.

Next time.

They are my favorite kind of band. Manic and sweaty with crazy fans who really get into it and aren’t afraid to look silly or get knocked around a little. That’s how you do Rock and Roll. I’m totally a fan now.

PS Zoroaster was also really good, but after Kverletak played I’d all but forgotten both them and Coliseum the night before.

PPS All the people who were at Coliseum were also at this show.

PPPS I think the rest of this tour is Kverletek, Zoroaster and Skeletonwitch which is not to be missed if they come thru your town.
